A “spreadsheet junkie” like he calls himself, Ivo Luhse found automated trading was the way to succeed in the Forex market.
He does this by using various robots on the same trading account; each robot trades a different strategy, and averages about one trade/day.
Ivo believes that if you treat trading as a hobby, you’ll never make it in this business!
In the show Ivo shares:
- One of his candlestick patterns strategies with 85% accuracy
- His journey to become a profitable trader
- His view on automated trading
- 4 elements to a high success rate trade on a daily chart
- The biggest mistakes in trading

Very interesting interview. I will definitely test the weekly open strategy. Just one question Ivo: Do you have a list of all the 27 currency pairs you trade somewhere?
Hi Jesmond,
Thank you for listening. Yes, you can find all the pairs I trade on this blog post: https://www.evestinforex.com/blog/2016/9/15/automated-trading-systems-with-character
Hello Ivo & Cam, Great episode!
Ivo: For the above mentioned strategy. Do yo look at the pair that has moved the most in pips or compared to a certain volatility average?
Thanks ,
Serge
Hi Serge,
Thank you for listening.
I did test % move method and ATR % move method for this weekly pullback strategy but the end I stayed with a simple pip counting method as it was the easiest to use and it also showed the best results.
Awesome Thanks!
Hi Ivo & Cam! Thanks for the strategy. When you say Monday open, would it be once the forex market opens ?
Hi Daniel,
Yes, once the Australian market opens on Monday, this is 22:00 UK time on Sunday. You might need to wait for about an hour to get decent spreads (5-10 pips).
The best pod cast in the whole series. Telling it as it really is. Great stuff Ivo
Wow.. cheers Paul.
I’ve always been a straight-talker 🙂
Thanks Paul, Ivo does a great job!
